Grow your business and boost ROI by building on great taste and experience

Face to Face Summit | London, UK
17-18 November, 2021

“Consumer drinking habits are changing, with an increased focus on premiumisation and heritage. As consumers grow more confident and their repertoires become broader, it is no longer appropriate to look at drink categories in isolation. To unlock true value, we must identify where and how consumers want to enjoy drinks and ensure there is always a relevant offer for them.”

Madeleine Bedford, Senior Customer Category Manager, Diageo

“The Lo & No Summit was a fantastic event which brought together the leaders and innovators in this exciting and rapidly evolving category. I would highly recommend anyone interested in this space to attend.”

Stephan Dillon, Managing Director, RTM Beverages

Why Attend

Consumer’s behaviours are increasingly motivated by their physical and mental health, leading to a demand for low, non-alcoholic, and functional beverages. Managing the opportunities and challenges associated with a saturated and competitive industry is essential to ensuring customers receive the highest quality beverages. But what do these challenges and opportunities look like in a post-covid world? And how we can tackle them as an industry?

Introducing the Lo & No and Functional Beverage Europe Summit, 17 - 18 November (with an additional virtual day 9th November) where multinational alcohol and soft drinks brands, innovative start-ups, active investors, buyers, e-commerce providers, logistics and service providers across Europe meet to find ways to innovate and gain scale in the industry.

Our balanced and in-depth content will allow you the opportunity to explore opportunities such as innovation, market expansion, sustainability, scaling and investment, whilst also tackling challenges such as regulation, and attracting on-trade and off-trade buyers. The Lo & No and Functional Beverages Summit provides a platform for you to grow your network and explore partnership opportunities for investment, joint ventures, or even acquisitions between the hottest brands in the market.

I love the food world. All of it. I love the passionate people who put their hearts and souls into building brands. The immense talent I get to know and work with – industry veterans, dietitians, chefs, start-ups, non-profits – and individuals who have a common interest in creating a more exciting, more diverse and more sustainable food system for the future.

I have spent more than two decades in this world, and where I am today is truly the best part of the journey. I started my own firm in 2019 with the goal of doing what I do best, enjoying my work and making an impact. I learned so much working at the best global PR firms in the world (Weber Shandwick, Edelman, Burson Marsteller) on best-in-class clients including PepsiCo, Quaker, Campbell Soup Company, Oreo, Kraft, ADM, Cherry Marketing Institute and National Confectioners Association. And, it’s how I met my co-founder Etienne Hernandez – Medina who I’m proud to be partnering with on food forward work.

In my most recent role as an SVP, Partner at FleishmanHillard, I built and ran the Chicago office’s multi-million-dollar Food & Nutrition practice from the ground up. I started Food Futures Strategies. Now it was time to build something of my own. I created Crave It PR with my co-founder, colleague and friend Etienne Hernandez-Medina, the CEO of H+M Communications, to put game-changing brands front and center in today’s food culture, and grow their relevance and revenue in new, exciting ways.

Founder & CEO
The Free Spirits Company LLC

Milan is a creative business executive with a history of driving growth and success in both large enterprise and entrepreneurial environments. For the past decade, Milan has held executive-level positions across three continents, leading both Fortune 50 and growth brands.

In 2020, Milan founded The Free Spirits Company and is currently the CEO of the organization. Working with a talented team of multi-disciplinary professionals, Milan is dedicated to changing drinking culture by offering people better “no and low alcohol” options when ‘drinking’. Free Spirits is one of the leading brands in a quickly growing category and is poised to continue to innovate and expand rapidly across markets.

Prior to Free Spirits, Milan led Grey Advertising through a significant turn-around and to the most successful time in its history. Under Milan’s leadership, Grey San Francisco was recognized as one of the fastest growing, most creatively awarded agencies on the West Coast. Taking home top honors at festivals including Effies, Cannes, OneShows and D&AD, in addition to the business results achieved for Grey’s clients were all factors in the Agency being named as Global Agency of the Year three years running.

Earlier in his career, Milan spent over a decade at Ogilvy & Mather in both London and New York City, later joining a digital agency as Chief Strategist where he also orchestrated the sale of the company to a publicly traded organization.

A native of the East Coast, Milan now lives with his family in Mill Valley, California where he plays drums (serviceably) in a neighborhood dad band called “The Sofa Kings”.
